History of Miles for Military

Miles for Military (MFM) originated from the compassionate heart and vision of our founder, Maureen Byrne. Recognizing a critical gap faced by military personnel, Maureen embarked on a mission to bridge it. Her dream soon resonated with numerous successful business figures, who embraced her purpose, leading to the establishment of this pivotal organization. Rooted in familial love, sacrifice, and the need to connect, MFM became a beacon of hope for countless service members.

The Genesis of MFM - Maureen's Story:

In the warmth of Thanksgiving, as families across America reunited, Maureen Byrne faced a dilemma. As a proud Mother of a Marine, every moment with her son, Ronan, was precious. Yet, the cost of a last-minute flight strained her finances. The joy of watching Ronan step through her door, however, was immeasurable. Curiosity led Maureen to ask Ronan about his fellow Marines' homecoming experiences. His response illuminated a sobering reality: many couldn't afford such journeys. This revelation, juxtaposed with alarming mental health statistics among active-duty members, sparked an idea. Maureen envisioned a unique platform where military personnel could earn their way home through volunteerism, echoing the military's ethos of earning privileges. Thus, Miles for Military was born, offering service members not just flights, but a pathway to combat the emotional strains of service. By volunteering, they don't just earn tickets, they rebuild their emotional foundation, fostering community and purpose. At MFM, the focus isn't solely on flights. It's about ensuring our brave men and women can be present for life's invaluable moments while simultaneously nurturing their mental well-being. Maureen's initiative isn't just a program; it's a movement, and she invites everyone to join this transformative journey.
