Maureen Byrne

Maureen, a Boston native, is the visionary founder of Miles for Military. A seasoned entrepreneur, she has over 20 years of experience running her own massage therapy business and holds a graduate certificate from the Nonprofit Leadership Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Her inspiration for Miles for Military was deeply personal; her son Ronan served as an active-duty Marine primarily stationed at Camp Lejeune. Noticing that Ronan's unit members often couldn't afford flights to visit their families during holidays and special events, she founded the nonprofit as a heartfelt solution. Miles for Military is a 501(c)(3) organization that grants flight tickets to active-duty service members in exchange for volunteer work. A master at adapting to new technology and business needs, Maureen embodies the skilled leadership required for navigating the complexities of a 21st-century nonprofit. Her dedication to enhancing the lives of U.S. military personnel and their families is the guiding force behind the organization.
